Three Reasons Why People Will Bully
It is important to know that being bullied is nothing to be ashamed of, and you do not deserve to be mistreated in such a way. There are many reasons why someone chooses to bully, but none of these reasons deem the behavior acceptable. The bully is hurting too and needs to get help as well. Below are three reasons why a bully may choose to hurt others.
1.Being in Control
Sometimes people bully because they want to have control over someone or something. The bully has learned very early in life that by using force they may take what they want or change the outcome of a situation in order to benefit from it. Unfortunately, some people are influenced by violence from television, video games, or by witnessing it first hand from an adult or older sibling in the home.
2.Has No Social Skills
A bully normally does not understand how to behave in certain situations. They simply have not developed social skills. A bully may be jealous of something someone has. Acting out aggressively is far easier then admitting to these feelings.
3.Fear of Being Bullied
Finally, some people bully simply because they are frightened of rejection and possibly being bullied themselves. A person may be very insecure and feel as if they don’t measure up to peers. It is far easier to put up a tough attitude then to allow someone to make them feel worse about themselves.
